As a JUNIOR (2013-2014): Traveled in both the fall and spring semesters... Consolation finalist in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke at the Terrier Invitational... Received the Athletic Director's Award for Academic Achievement.... Recipient of the Richard "Mo" Maloney Award for Community Outreach... Elected to the Student Athlete Advisory Committee Board...

AS A SOPHOMORE: (2013-2012) Saw significant improvement and was selected to travel in both the fall and spring semesters. Went lifetime bests at the Terrier Invitational in the 200 IM(2:12.67), 100 breaststroke (1:08.87)and 200 butterfly (2:23.76).Was chosen as outstanding performance for the 200 IM against Brandeis University. Received the Athletic Director's Academic Achievement Award. Visited the Franciscan Children's Hospital and Food for Families through SAAC and was a Pen Pal for a fourth grader at the Edison School.

AS A FRESHMAN: (2012-2011) Gillian went all life-time bests at the Terrier Invitational in the 200 IM (2:13.37), 100 breaststroke(1:10.75) and 50 freestyle (25.67) Chosen as the Outstanding Performance for the 200 IM against Bentley University. Received the Athletic Director's Academic Achievement Award. Visited the Franciscan Children's Hospital and Food for Families through SAAC.

BEFORE BC: Gillian attended Reading Memorial High School, was a four-year varsity swimmer and was named a league all-star for four years. In her senior year, she was captain and led the team to its first state title. Gillian won the sportsmanship award in 2008 and 2010 and the `heart and soul' award for dedication and determination in 2009. She holds school records in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.

PERSONAL: Gillian is from Reading, MA and is the daughter of Denis and Deirdre Walsh. She has one brother, Christopher (21) who attends Boston College and is a senior on the Men's Swimming and Diving team. Gillian swims for the Burbank YMCA Bluefins.
