Softball Announces 2014 Schedule

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College 2014 softball schedule includes four tournaments, 18 home games, and 28 ACC games and match ups against nine 2013 NCAA tournament teams as announced by head coach Ashley Obrest.
The Eagles open their season on February 14 with a three-day, five-game tournament at the University of Louisiana Lafayette. BC will take on Central Arkansas, Valparaiso, Michigan and Memphis twice in the tournament
BC then travels to Tempe, Ariz. for the Arizona State Tournament from February 21-23. The Eagles will face off against Idaho State, ASU, Seton Hall and Drake twice in the tournament.
ACC play starts for the Eagles with a three-game series at Georgia tech, beginning with a double header on March 1 (1 p.m. and 3 p.m. starts) followed by a single game the following day.
BC then plays Florida, Central Florida and Jacksonville before playing in the University of South Florida Tournament in Tampa, Fla. from March 7-9. The Eagles opponents will be St. Johns, Southern Illinois, Villanova, Cleveland State and Northwestern.
The Eagles then return to Chestnut Hill for the home opener. They host a three-game series with Florida State on March 22-23. BC will take on local rivals UMass (March 25 and April 9), Harvard (April 1), Boston University (April 3 and April 10), Providence (April 29) and UConn (April 30) during the season.
Maryland will host the 2014 ACC Tournament in College Park. The single-elimination format runs from May 8-10.
