D'Argento, Speer, Cooley Earn All-ACC Softball Honors

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.-
D'Argento was the work horse for the Eagles on the mound this season. She went 18-14 on the season, with the 18 victories being a new personal best for wins in a single season. The Ashland, Mass., product also led the team in innings pitched (205), another career-high as well as strikeouts (179) and appearances (41).
Speer has made her mark and then some as a four-year starter at Boston College. The Eagles senior hails from Trabuca Canyon, California. She was recently awarded the post graduate ACC Scholarship and is a four-time Athletics Director's Academic recipient as well as a three-time All-ACC Academic honoree. Speer leads the team in batting average (.363), runs scored (41), doubles (14), home runs (12), total bases (99), slugging percentage (.733), walks (46) and put outs (234).
Cooley has been an impact player throughout her sophomore campaign. The Mill Creek, Wash., product has played in and started all 52 games this season. She ranks second on the team in batting average (.358), third in runs scored (34) and total bases (67).
The seventh-seeded Boston College softball team will play second-seeded Notre Dame in the first round of the ACC Softball Championship on Thursday, May 8 at 5 p.m. in College Park, Maryland. The game will be televised on ESPN3.
