Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The scheduled softball doubleheader between Boston College and the University of Rhode Island was postponed due to inclement weather. No makeup date has been set.

The Eagles (4-11) will now return home for back-to-back twinbills against Holy Cross (April 5, 3:30 p.m.) and Maine (April 6, 3 p.m.). This weekend, Boston College will finally begin BIG EAST play with doubleheaders at St. John's (April 8) and Seton Hall (April 9). Both weekend tilts begin at noon.

Boston College has split its last eight games after an 0-7 start. The Eagles have lost eight one-run games and dropped three contests in extra innings.

The Eagles have been led by a pair of freshmen thus far -- second baseman Jen Asbury is among the top hitters in the BIG EAST with a .372 batting average, while pitcher Kim Ryan has a 1.60 ERA and 37 strikeouts.
