Box Score

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. Tory Speer tied the single season BC home run mark with her 14th homer of the season, but it wasn’t enough as the NC State Wolfpack swept the three game series with a 14-3 victory on Sunday.

Stephanie Lord dropped to 2-13 this season as she surrendered seven earned runs on nine hits over three innings.  Ronnie Mae Ayers came on in relief for her collegiate pitching debut – allowing one unearned run on three hits over two innings.  Emily Wieman (28-16) allowed three earned runs on six hits over four innings for the Wolfpack.

After a scoreless first inning, the Wolfpack exploded for 13 runs over the next two frames on the strength of homers from Renada Davis, Caitlin Dent, Hanna Sommer, and Bethaney Wells.

Speer’s record tying round-tripper in the second and RBI single in the third accounted for two of the Eagles’ three runs on the day. The home run tied the mark set by Cara Blumfield in 2001. CJ Chirichigno added a solo shot in the fourth – her second homer of the series and fourth overall in 2013.

Ayers, in her collegiate debut in the circle, escaped a bases loaded jam in the fourth surrendering just one unearned run while striking out Wolfpack slugger Renada Davis.

Chelsea Stanfield relieve Emily Wieman in the bottom of the fifth – sending BC down in order to end the game.

The Eagles will travel to Storrs for a match up against Connecticut on Tuesday – first pitch scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
