Softball Drops Two to Harvard
Chris Vicari's two home runs not enough.

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College Eagles had their win streak snapped at four, when the Harvard Crimson took two from BC in action Thursday afternoon in Cambridge.
In game one of the doubleheader, BC jumped out to an early lead on a two-run home run by junior Chris Vicari(Totowa, N.J.) in the top of the first, increasing her RBI total to 19.
Gretchen Thompson (Brea, CA)pitched her fourth complete game of the season for the Eagles. Thompson allowed one earned run on six hits.
Harvard scored single runs in the bottom of the sixth and seventh to force the game to extra-innings.
In the top of the eight with sophomore Summer Jarratt(Manhattan Beach, CA) on third base, Vicari and junior Jen Lombardi(Canton, OH) were called out on strikes. Last years BIG EAST Rookie of the Year . Jenn Perrotta(Carsltadt, N.J), grounded out to third to end the inning.
Harvard scored the game winning run in the home half of the eight to pick up their seventh win of the season.

In game two the Eagles clawed back from a 5-1 deficit to force the game into extra-innings. Thompson scored on a wild pitch to tie the game at six in the top of the seventh.. Vicari struck out, stranding the go ahead run at second.
Brooke Shull got the start for the Eagles, going seven innings allowing five runs on 10 hits with a strikeout and four walks. Thompson came in of relief of Shull and allowed the game winning run in the bottom of the ninth.
BC's record in one-run games is now 1-7.

BC opens BIG EAST play this weekend. On Saturday they wil host St. John's and on Sunday they will remain at the Heights to play Seton Hall. Game time is 12:00 for both days.
