The Boston College softball team fell to Florida Atlantic, 6-1, on Friday night at the FAU Embassy Suites Classic. Junior Nicole D'Argento
shouldered the loss for the Eagles (13-6). The Ashland, Mass. native struck out two batters, walked one and allowed five runs on three hits in one inning. Senior Morgan Kidd
tossed five innings of relief, collecting three Ks, four walks and one earned run on four hits.
T. Fawbush threw a complete game, totaling four strikeouts, four walks, one earned run and three hits in the win for the Owls (8-15).
FAU broke the game open with a five-run first inning. Barnes was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning. A pair of bunts moved the runner around and loaded the bases for the Owls. Stovall then doubled to center to plate two runs. FAU added two more runs when Martinez singled and took second as the Eagles tried to get the second runner at home. Diaz then knocked a triple to left to score Martinez for the 5-0 lead.
Florida Atlantic took a six run lead in the fourth, 6-0. Speerin doubled down the left field line and came around when Call did the same two batters later.
BC scored in the sixth, 6-1. Senior Brittany Wilkins hit a one-out single down the left field line and took second when Bree Tanke grounded out to first. After Ronnie Mae Ayers drew a walk, freshman Chelsea Dimon singled down the left field line to plate Wilkins from second.
