The Eagles will play eight games this fall starting September 21.
Sara Olson joins the Eagles staff this season after spending 2012 as a student assistant coach at Indiana University. As a student assistant, Sara helped the staff with athletic training, skill training, game leadership, statistics, and video analysis.
With Olson's help, the Hoosiers finished fourth in the Big Ten with an overall record of 30-25.
Sara made her mark at Indiana during her four year tenure finishing fifth in career home runs at Indiana (25) and sixth in career RBI (95). Olson's senior season was her best as she hit .331 with 8 HR and 35 RBI and carried a 1.01 ERA in six appearances. For her efforts that season, Sara earned numerous accolades and achieved many personal milestones.
Named Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Midwest Region First Team.
Named First Team All-Big Ten at first base.
Received the Spirit of Indiana Director's Award.
Named the team's Co-MVP.
Led the Big Ten with a .667 on-base percentage and a 1.392 OPS.
Reached base safely in 19 of 20 conference games.
Sara has worked in numerous Indiana University softball clinics and has given private and group lessons for players/teams in the Chicago and Indiana areas since 2007.
Olson majored in Recreation Sports Management and Parks and Recreation Management with a minor in Tourism Management. She is the daughter of Jeff and Anna Olson, has a brother and two sisters both of whom will have played softball at Indiana.
