Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The women's soccer team will face Dartmouth College in the NCAA first round on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 8:00 p.m. The game will be played in Storrs, Conn., on the University of Connecticut campus. The Eagles enter the tournament with an 11-5-2 overall record.

This year will mark the Eagles ninth appearance in the NCAA tournament and third straight, owning a 6-8 record since 1982 when they made their first appearance. Last year the Eagles advanced to the sweet 16 for the second time in school history. The Eagles also advanced that far in 1999. In the 2004 NCAA first round, Boston College took on Florida State advancing on penalty kicks, then downing Central Florida, 2-1, in the second round. They lost to Princeton, 2-0, in the round of 16 to cap off a 15-7-1 season.

The Eagles are 8-4-1 against Dartmouth, playing them most recently in 2001, when Dartmouth took the 3-0 win.

In the quarterfinals of the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament this season, the Eagles fell to Duke University, 2-0, in Cary, N.C., at the SAS Soccer Complex.

This season the Eagles have collected 12 shutouts, which ties them for first in the Atlantic Coast Conference with Virginia. The Eagles' 0.67 shutout percentage is ranked eighth in the nation.

Sophomore Kia McNeill and freshman Caroline Walden lead the team in points with eight, while sophomore Maddie Johnson is also tied for first with McNeill and Walden in goals with three. Fifteen different athletes have scored for the Eagles this season.

In goal junior Arianna Criscione has played every minute for the Eagles, garnering a 0.76 goals against average and a .816 save percentage.

Junior defender Laura Georges earned All-ACC first team honors, while Walden received All-ACC freshman team accolades. Georges is also nominated for FIFA World Player of the Year. She is one of 24 women's soccer players from around the world nominated. The winner will be announced on Dec. 19 in Zurich, Switzerland.
