Oct. 1, 2013

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Sophomore McKenzie Meehan (women's soccer) and true freshman Myles Willis (football) were named Eagles of the Week for their performances on the field last week.

Meehan scored two game-winning goals, giving her an ACC leading six this season, to lead the Eagles to two ACC victories last week. She scored a total of four goals in the two matches. Meehan notched the lone goal in a 1-0 win over No. 9/10 Wake Forest on Thursday night in Newton. Then on Sunday, she notched her second career hat trick to lead BC to a 3-2 win at NC State. It was Meehan's team-leading 10th goal of the season. The Smithfield, R.I., product was named ACC Player of the Week.

Willis recorded a game-high 211 all-purpose yards in BC's 48-34 loss to No. 8/8 Florida State on Saturday. He caught four passes for 69 yards and a touchdown - the first of his career, a season-long 52-yard pass with 2:10 left in the third quarter. He also returned three kickoffs for 114 yards, including a season-long 71-yard return on the opening play of the second half. He also rushed five times for 28 yards (5.6 yards per carry) against the Seminoles.
