Meehan Named To U-20 World Cup Roster

Junior forward McKenzie Meehan was named to the U.S. Under-20 Women's National Team by head coach Michelle French on Thursday afternoon. Meehan is one of 21 athletes selected to compete from August 5-24 at the World Cup in Edmonton, Montreal, Moncton and Toronto, Canada.
The US will open up on August 5 against Germany, followed by a meeting with Brazil on August 8. On August 12 the USA will play China PR.
Meehan is a native of Smithfield, Rhode Island and entering her third season at Boston College. She led the team in scoring in 2013 as she eclipsed the single-season goal scoring record when she registered 20 goals. Meehan led the ACC in game-winning goals with nine as the Eagles advanced to the Elite Eight round of the NCAA Tournament.
Meehan was named an All-ACC second team selection this past season. She led the ACC in goals scored and game-winning goals. Meehan, who was a third-team NSCAA Southeast Region All-American selection, recorded two hat tricks and six multiple-point games for the Eagles.
