CARSON, Ca - McKenzie Meehan has been named to participate in the new cycle of the U.S. Under-20 Women's National team beginning next month. The new cycle, which will open with a training camp at the Home Depot center in Carson, California from February 2-9, will feature players born on or after Jan. 1, 1994 that will eventually be eligible to play for the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. Nine of the players on the roster for the upcoming camp, like Meehan, are currently in college, with the remainder still attending high school, and one playing professionally overseas.
Meehan finished her freshman season at BC with nine goals as well as New England Soccer Player of the Week and CS360 Primetime Performer accolades. She was named to the All-ACC Freshmen Team at the end of the season.
The U.S. Under-20 Women's National Team training camp will be held concurrently with the U.S. Under-18 Women's National Team training camp and the two squads will scrimmage against each other on February 5 at 3 p.m. The U-20s will also scrimmage UCLA on February 8.
