Women's Soccer Defeats Central Connecticut, 7-0

Boston College junior forward Stephanie McCaffrey scored three goals - her second career hat trick, and sophomore McKenzie Meehan tallied two goals to lead Boston College to a 7-0 victory over Central Connecticut Wednesday night in a non-conference competition. BC is now 8-7 on the season and will travel to Coral Gables, Fla., for an ACC match-up against Miami on Sunday, Oct. 20. CCSU is now 3-10.

Junior Casey Morrison started the scoring off with a header from senior Patrice Vettori 13:38 into the game, marking her first goal of the season. McCaffrey quickly followed with an unassisted goal at 14:18.

McKenzie Meehan put one on the board at 22:11 with a right shot over the keeper’s head from her sister Madison Meehan.

In the second half, McCaffrey extended the lead in the 50th scoring a goal from Madison Meehan and posted another unassisted goal at 61:26.

Freshman Hayley Dowd registered a goal in the 70th marking her third on the season.

BC concluded the scoring in the 89th when McKenzie Meehan scored her 15th goal of the season. Freshman Andrea O’Brien notched her first assist of the season on the goal.

The Eagles held a 34-6 advantage in shots and had six corners to CCSU’s five.
