Florida State Drops No. 9 Women's Soccer, 1-0

The No. 9 Boston College women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss to Florida State in an ACC match on the road. The Eagles are now 9-3-2 overall and 4-3-0 in the ACC, while FSU improved to 10-6-0 overall and 3-5-0 in the conference.
The Eagles recorded 12 shots but only three on goal while Florida State had 10 shots, five on goal. FSU had the edge in corner kicks, 7-4.
Senior Jillian Mastroianni had four saves in the match, three in the first half. FSU goalkeeper Kelse Wys had three stops, all in the second half.
The Eagles best chance to score came in the 68th minute when Blose's shot was saved and it was followed by two shots from McCaffrey. One shot went high while the other was blocked by a defender.
At 83:22, Florida State got on the board when Dagny Brynjarsdottir headed the ball lint the left side of the post. Tiffany McCarthy and Katie Riley were credited with assists on the goal.
Boston College's next match will take place on Thursday, October 20 as the Eagles host North Carolina at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
