Lady Eagles Hang On To First Place

WATERVILLE VALLEY, NH - The women's ski team had their third race of the season last weekend at Waterville Valley, New Hampshire. The lady Eagles competed in the Plymouth State Carnival in both slalom and giant slalom races. Although they did not win either day, the lady Eagles were able to hold on to first place in the MacConnell Division.
Day one found two sophomores leading the way for the women's ski team. Hillary Weber finished sixth, while Kelly Burgart placed seventh. Junior Laura Martini had another top ten finish, placing tenth, and senior captain Erica Reilly continued her season's success by rounding out the lady Eagles' scoring with eleventh place. Freshman Katie Cutting continued her inaugural campaign with a twelfth place finish.
Sunday's giant slalom race was another solid finish for the women's ski team. Weber again led the way with ninth place, and Cutting had another twelfth place finish for the day. Martini once again scored for the lady Eagles with thirteenth place, and Reilly closed out the top twenty for women's team by finishing eighteenth.
The Eagles look to stay on top of Plymouth State University and Colby-Sawyer College at next weekend's MAC Carnival. Day one of the event will take place at Gunstock, New Hampshire, while day two of the meet with take place at Blackwater in New Hampshire.
