Rowing Prepares for the Foot of the Charles Regatta

Nine Boston College entries will take part in the Foot of the Charles Regatta on the Charles River in Boston, Mass., on Saturday, Nov. 10, in the final competition for the rowing team this fall.
The Eagles will race five boats in the varsity four event at 9:45 a.m., two boats in the novice eight event at 10:45 a.m., and two boats in the third varsity eight event at 11:15 a.m.
The varsity four event features 42 entries. Last season, BC's "A" boat finished 13th out of 43 boats in the same event. The novice eight event features 17 entries with the Eagles "A" boat having claimed second place out of 23 entries in the same event in 2011. The third varsity eight event features 13 entries. No Boston College boats raced in the event last fall.
In the varsity four, BC's A through E boats will start in bow positions 6, 18, 28, 29, and 42 respectively while in the novice eight, the Eagles will start in bow positions 2 (A boat) and 13 (B boat). In the third varsity eight, Boston College will open in bow positions 7 (A boat) and 12 (B boat).
Other schools competing against the Eagles in the event include Boston University, Buffalo, MIT, Northeastern, Radcliffe, Rutgers, Syracuse, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.
