KINGSTON, R.I. - - Boston College rowing won two events in a regatta against Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Massachusetts on Saturday on the Narrow River.

The Eagles took first place in the Second Varsity Four and the Third Varsity Eight. Both crews were led by freshman coxswain Shealyn Mathewsand won by convincing margins.

The Eagles' Varsity Eight boat had a strong sprint to solidify its second place finish, ahead of UNH and UMass with a time of 7:19.13. The Freshmen Eight also finished second, ahead of UNH and UMass.

The BC Second Varsity Eight and Varsity Four crews both raced competitively for third place finishes.

The Eagles will see UMass again, along with Holy Cross, on April 7 when they head to Worcester.
