Caitlin Mance Announced as New Rowing Assistant Coach

Cornell grad joins head coach Steve Fiske and assistant Amy Weatherby on staff

Caitlin Mance enters her second season as an assistant coach with the women's rowing program in 2013-14.

In her first year with the Eagles in 2012-13, Mance helped lead BC to first-place finishes at the Green Monster Regatta, the Jesuit Invitational, and the BC-MIT Cup.

Mance is also currently a fellow at the Institute for Rowing Leadership at Community Rowing Inc. in Brighton, Mass. At CRI Mance organizes and administers multiple practices per week for over 50 rowers of various skill levels.

Prior to joining the Eagles, the Cornell grad spent the past two years as the Development Coordinator for Save the Harbor/Save the Bay. While at Save the Harbor/Save the Bay she assisted in implementing an organization-wide fundraising program that incorporated foundation fundraising, corporate sponsorship, and other pledges.

Mance moved to Boston in 2009 to complete her master's degree in Energy and Environmental Analysis at Boston University while continuing to row at the Riverside Boat Club.

After receiving a bachelor's degree in Biology in 2008 from Cornell, she started her coaching career as an intern coach with the women's varsity rowing program working primarily with the third varsity four. While in Ithaca, Mance helped develop players such as Erica Crump who received All-Mid-Atlantic Region First Team honors in 2009 and provided one-on-one skill instruction for thirty student-athletes.

A native of South Easton, Mass., Mance rowed for four years at Cornell, captaining the Big Red as a senior. After her senior season, she earned the 2008 Cornell Rowing Bill Doherty Award for selfless contributions to the team.
