Head Coach Steve Fiske enters his 15th season in 2013-14 as head coach and program director of rowing at Boston College. Fiske came to the heights in 1999, prior to the program's final year as a club sport at BC. Fiske enjoyed immediate success in the Eagles' inaugural season, winning a Dad Vail Championship, including a victory in the women's Varsity Eight, and consequently earning selection as Division I New England Coach of the year in 2001.

During his tenure at the helm, Fiske's teams have shown consistent speed and progress, highlighted by wins in a number of prestigious regattas, including the Dad Vail Championship, the Big East Championship, the New England Rowing Championship, and the Knecht Cup.

The Eagles have won the Jesuit Invitational in each of the last two seasons under Fiske's leadership and took home the BC-MIT Cup for the first time in 2013.

Fiske guided the Eagles in their transition into the Atlantic Coast Conference beginning with the 2005-06 academic year. Since joining the league, Fiske has helped BC land an athlete on the All-ACC Team in each of the school's eight seasons in the conference.

In 2005, BC's final year in the Big East Conference, Fiske earned Big East Coach of the Year honors after guiding the rowing team to a second-place finish at the conference championship, the best finish in program history. Upon joining the Atlantic Coast Conference in 2006, the Eagles proceeded to place fifth in each of their first two years. BC finished the 2008 season sixth in the conference and improved to a fourth place finish in 2009.

Fiske has continued to move the program forward by placing the Eagles next to the best possible competition. In June 2004, Fiske took the Eagles to Europe to compete in the prestigious Henley Women's Regatta and Henley Royal Regatta, where they represented Boston College for the first time in the program's history.

From 2004-2006, Fiske's teams were twice invited as an "honorary guest" to compete in the Eastern Association of Women's Rowing Colleges (EAWRC) Championship, based on the strength of their schedule and the speed of their Varsity Eight. In 2007, the Eastern Sprints named Boston College a permanent member of the league, ensuring the future for the Eagles to race against the best teams in the Northeast and the country.

Prior to coaching at Boston College, Fiske served as an assistant coach for six years at his alma mater, Fordham University. His teams at Fordham won medals in a number of championship regattas, including the Atlantic 10 Championships, the Dad Vail Regatta and the International Rowing Association (IRA) Regatta.

Fiske competed intercollegiately at Fordham and was a member of some of the university's most successful crews. He rowed with the 1992 Fordham four that won a bronze medal in the IRA Regatta and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Henley Royal Regatta. During his senior year, he advanced to the Collegiate Finals of the World Indoor Rowing Championships (CRASH-B Sprints), where he finished fifth. Immediately following his senior year, Fiske was invited to the United States National Team pre-elite camp in Philadelphia.

Fiske continued to race competitively for the New York Athletic Club from 1993-2000, winning five national titles for the club in both sweep and sculling events. He also raced internationally, representing the Commercial Rowing Club of Ireland at races in both continental Europe and Great Britain.

Fiske earned a Bachelor of Arts in art history and pre-architecture from Fordham and recently completed a master's degree in administrative studies from Boston College. Steve and his wife, Christine, reside in Milton with their daughters Isabella and Lindsey.
