After earning All-American honors for her 34th place finish at the 2000 NCAA cross country championship, Guiney looks to establish herself as a track elite runner.

Indoor Season

1999-2000: Finished first in the 3,000 meter (10:02.3) at Harvard ...took second with 2:57.6 in the 1,000 meter at the New England Cup Finals...won the 3,000 meter (9:44.03) with her best time, at the New England Championship.

Outdoor Season

2000: Won the 5,000 meter at the New England Championship with a time of 17:05.00, placing her fifth in the BC all-time record book...finished sixth in the BIG EAST 3,000 meter with a time of 9:47.11...participated on the record holding distance medley relay (11:37.70).

At Middletown South

Honored as the New jersey State Athlete of the Year for 1999 by First Union and the New Jersey Nets...Earned All-American honors three times...Is the New Jersey state record holder in the indoor two-mile (10:27)...Was a six-time state champion in various events...Was a member of the National Scholastic Champion Distance Medley Team for Middletown South.


Born November 3, 1980...Enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences as a communications major....Was a member of the National Honor Society in high school...Her twin sister Maggie also runs track and cross country at Boston College...Cate and her sister are the only children of Jane and Neil Guiney.
