Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The IWLCA announced its 2014 National and Regional Coaches of the Year this morning. Boston College's Acacia Walker was named the IWLCA Division 1 Northeast Regional Coach Of The Year.

The IWLCA also named Cathy Reese of the University of Maryland, Rob Grella of Adelphi Univesity and Jim Nestor of Salisbury University the National Coaches of the Year for Division I, II & III respectively. All three coached their teams to their Division's NCAA National Championships.

Walker, who is in her second season at BC, earned the honor after leading the Eagles to the best record in program history at 16-5. Boston College advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament with wins over Bryant and Loyola. It marked the first time in program history that the team earned two tournament victories.

The Eagles finished the season as the No. 6 team in the country and had four players - Sarah Mannelly, Mikaela Rix, Covie Stanwick and Kate McCarthy - named to the IWLCA All-Northeast Regional team, while Rix and Stanwick were named an IWLCA All-Americans.
