CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College lacrosse's Mikaela Rix has been named WomensLax.com's Player of the Week, announced on Monday, Feb. 17 by WomensLax.com.

The junior midfielder earned this honor after leading the 17th- ranked Eagles to a 15-10 upset over the 11th- ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Saturday. Rix notched career highs in goals and points, netting six goals and dishing out an assist in the season opening game at the Loftus Sports Center.

The Garden City, N.Y., product also contributed a ground ball, two draw controls, and a caused turnover in the game. This is Rix's second WomensLax.com Player of the Week award, as she took home the honor last year on April 1.  

Rix and the Eagles will host their next two contests at home as they take on New Hampshire on Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 4 p.m., and Ohio State on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 2 p.m.
