Women's Lacrosse Defeat UCONN, 16-6

CHESTNUT HILL, Ma. - Senior Danielle Wood scored five goals to lead Boston College over the University of Connecticut 16-6.

Boston College opened the game scoring eight unanswered goals. Connecticut scored for the first time with 5:47 remaing in the first half on a goal by senior Laurie McCarthy.

In their last game at Boston College seniors Maggie Berkery and Tina Margetis posted three points apiece and senior Alexandra Doyle netted two goals and added two assists.

Senior Joyce Chung added two goals for Connecticut, who dropped to 4-7 on the year.

Sophmore Carrie Everett added two goals and one assist for Boston College who improved to 5-10 on the year.

Freshman Melissa Cole posted six saves for the Eagles and Jennifer Schiavone stopped 16 saves for the Huskies.
