No. 7/7 Lacrosse Beats Southern California, 13-10

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The No. 7/7 Boston College lacrosse team defeated the University of Southern California, 13-10, on Thursday afternoon at McAlister Field.
The Eagles (5-1, 1-1 ACC) were led by senior captain Moira Barry who notched three goals in the contest. Fellow captain Brooke Blue and junior Mikaela Rix each tallied two goals while Sarah Mannelly, Covie Stanwick, Kate McCarthy, Tess Chandler, Cali Ceglarski, and Caroline Margolis all added a goal.
Junior goal keeper Emily Mata had six saves on the day.
The two teams traded goals to start the first half. Margolis tied the game at two on a free position shot at the 23:01 mark.
Chandler found Barry for another point just minutes after, boosting the Eagles to a 3-2 advantage. The Trojans then went on a 3-0 spurt to give them a 5-3 lead with 16:20 left in the half.
Boston College immediately answered with a 3-0 run of its own to make it a 6-5 game. Barry notched two of the goals during the run.
USC tied it up at six with .17 on the clock on an unassisted shot from Cordrey, but McCarthy found the net with two seconds left to give the Eagles a 7-6 edge at the half.
Mannelly opened up the scoring at the beginning of the second, giving Boston College a two-point advantage. Both squads exchanged goals until the Eagles went on another decisive 3-0 run late in the half to give them a 13-8 lead.
The Trojans scored twice to end the half, but it was not enough to outlast BC.
The Eagles had the advantage in shots (31-21) and draws (13-12). Both teams had 13 ground balls and USC had eight saves to BC's six.
Boston College is back in action on Saturday, March 8 at San Diego State. Game time is set for 1 p.m. (PT).
The contest served as the first meeting between the two teams.
