No. 10/9 Lacrosse Topples Connecticut, 15-3

STORRS, Conn. - The No. 10/9 Boston College women's lacrosse team toppled Connecticut, 15-3, on Saturday afternoon in Storrs, Conn.
Seniors Moira Barry and Brooke Blue and sophomore Sarah Mannelly each scored two goals. Senior Cali Ceglarski and freshman Kate Weeks both tallied a goal of their own for the Eagles.
Junior goalkeeper Emily Mata made two saves.
UConn midfielder Jordan Christopher started the scoring early in the first half. Rix and Blue both found the net to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead at the 21:42 mark. Laura Kahn found some space to tie the game at two with 19:09 left in the period.
The Eagles then went on a 4-0 run to close the half surged from back-to-back goals by Barry. Blue and Mannelly each tallied a goal during the run.
Boston College opened up the second half with four straight goals. UConn's Alexandra Crofts added the Huskies final goal of the contest on a free position shot with 17:59 to play.
The Eagles scored the next 10 goals over the next 23 minutes, getting goals from Rix, Blue, Barry, Mannelly, Ceglarski, and Stanwick. Weeks recorded her first goal of her collegiate career to close out the scoring with 6:50 left in the game.
Boston College out-shot the Huskies 28-8. Both teams controlled 10 draws and the Eagles held the advantage on ground balls 19-10.
The Eagles are back in action on Thursday, March 6 at Southern California. Game time is 3:00 PT.
