Eagles Invited to U.S. National Winter Camp

Dec. 23, 2012

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Four current members and one former member of the Boston College women's hockey team received an invite to the 2012 U.S. National Team Winter Camp in Blaine, Minn., from December 26-31 as announced by USA Hockey on Saturday.

Sophomores Emily Field, Alex Carpenter, Emily Pfalzer, and freshman Haley Skarupa will represent the 2012-13 edition of the Eagles while Molly Schaus '11, is the lone BC alum.

"I'm very happy for our players who are getting the opportunity to try out for the national team at winter camp.  It's an honor to put on the USA jersey, one that all of them deserve," said head coach Katie King Crowley.

36 players were invited to the camp, with the group split into two teams (blue and white) that will compete in intrasquad scrimmages on December 28th, 29th, and 31st.  Skarupa and Pfalzer will compete on the Blue Team while Carpenter, Field, and Schaus will join the White Team.
