Skarupa and Boyles Receive Weekly Honors

Dec. 11, 2012

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Freshman forward Haley Skarupa received Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week honors, senior goaltender Corinne Boyles received WHEA Defensive Co-Player of the Week honors, and the Eagles were named as WHEA Team of the Week as announced by the Hockey East on Monday.

Skarupa, the Rockville, Maryland native, netted her 13th goal of the season and recorded a game high seven shots in the Eagles 4-1 win over UNH on Wednesday.  The weekly honors were Skarupa's fourth of the season and the second in as many weeks.

Boyles receives the fourth Defensive Player of the Week honors of her career and second in the last three weeks.   The Wheaton, Illinois native is currently riding a personal nine game winning streak stopping 20 of 21 shots against UNH on Wednesday.  Boston University goaltender Kerrin Sperry shared the honors with Boyles this week.

The Eagles were also named WHEA Team of the Week for the fourth time in the last six weeks as they continue to ride program best 12 game unbeaten and seven game winning streaks.  BC has not lost since dropping a 3-2 decision to Minnesota-Duluth on October 25th.

The Eagles will be off until 2013 when they embark on a three game road trip to Clarkson, St. Lawrence, and Northeastern to kick off the second half of the season on January 3rd.
