Five members of the Boston College women's ice hockey team have been invited to participate in the USA Hockey Women's Holiday Camp in Blaine, Minn. from December 26-31, as announced on December 2.
Seniors Kelli Stack and Molly Schaus, sophomore Blake Bolden, and freshmen Meagan Mangene and Taylor Wasylk are among the 40 players who will be trying out for the National Team. Stack and Schaus are veterans of the camp, having been invited and named to the National Team in 2007, 2008, and 2009 as well. Last year they participated in the Qwest Tour that led them to the Vancouver Winter Olympics, where they won silver medals.
It is the first invitation for Bolden, Mangene, and Wasylk.
Four incoming players have been named to the U.S. Women's National U-18 Team. Alex Carpenter, Emily Field, Megan Miller, and Emily Pfalzer will travel to Stockholm, Sweden in January for the 2011 International Ice Hockey Federation World Women's U18 Championship.
