Field, Anastos Earn Monthly Awards

Dec. 4, 2013

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Junior forward Emily Field was named Warrior Hockey Player of the Month and freshman forward Andie Anastos earned Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Month accolades for their November performances, as announced by Hockey East on Wednesday.

Field recorded 13 points (seven goals, six assists) and a +7 rating in 10 games in November. The Littleton, Mass. native notched four multiple-point games and three two-goal games last month. She was also very effective on special teams, scoring two power-play goals and two short-handed goals. Field bounced back nicely after a slow start, and has scored 13 points in the last 8 games after only tallying four points in the team’s first nine games.

Anastos notched 10 points (four goals, six assists) and a +5 rating in 10 games in November. The Farmington Hills, Mich. product had three multiple-point games, one power-play goal, one short-handed goal and one game-winning goal on the month. Anastos played well on both sides of the puck, as she also blocked 11 shots in November. She leads all freshmen in WHEA with 0.94 points-per-game.

This marks the second month in a row that the Eagles have had two monthly award winners. In October, Haley Skarupa was named Co-Player of the Month, while Anastos earned Rookie of the Month accolades for the first time.

Both players have been honored by the league with weekly awards earlier this season, as Field was named Warrior Hockey Player of the Week on Nov. 11, and Andie Anastos named Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week on Oct. 14.

The Eagles (12-4-1, 7-1-0 WHEA) travel to Harvard to take on the Crimson on Saturday, Dec. 7 in their last game before the break.
