Boyles and WIH Team Earn Weekly Honors

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Graduate student and co-captain Corinne Boyles earned Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week honors for the third time this season and Boston College was named Hockey East Team of the Week as announced by the league on Monday.
Boyles stopped 65 of 68 shots (.956 save percentage) and had a 1.51 GAA in two games against No. 3 Cornell over the weekend, compiling a 1-1 record on the weekend. The Wheaton, Ill. native tallied her 60th career win in the 4-1 victory over Cornell on Saturday. Boyles leads the team with a 9-4-0 record, a 2.03 goals against average, and a .926 save percentage on the season.
Boston College earned Team of the Week honors for the second time this season after notching its first win against a ranked opponent this season. The Eagles got off to a quick start against Cornell on Saturday and took a 2-0 lead in the first period with goals from Meagan Mangene and Taylor Wasylk. Danielle Doherty added a goal in the second period to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead, and while the Big Red got on the board with a goal early in the third period, they were unable to complete the comeback as Emily Field concluded the scoring with a short-handed goal to settle the score at 4-1.
The Eagles (12-4-1, 7-1-0 WHEA) are currently second in the conference behind Boston University (11-3-1, 7-0-0 WHEA). Boston College travels to Harvard to take on the Crimson on Saturday, Dec. 7 in their last game before the break.
