Bolden Scores Late, No. 4 WIH Defeats Maine, 1-0
Junior defenseman Blake Bolden broke a scoreless tie at 18:32 in the third period to help the No. 4 Boston College women's ice hockey team complete a weekend sweep of Maine, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon in Alfond Arena.

Chestnut Hill, Mass. – The No. 5/6 women’s hockey team (8-3-2, 5-2-1 WHEA), fresh off their Nutmeg Classic championship, will entertain the Maine Black Bears in a two game set this weekend.

BC extended their record-setting unbeaten break to nine games with shutout victories over Quinnipiac and Yale last weekend.  The previous high unbeaten streak of eight games was set back in 2008 but the Eagles shattered that mark on Saturday with a resounding 5-0 win over Yale to win the Nutmeg Classic.

Senior goaltender Corinne Boyles stopped all 44 shots she faced over the two game tournament to improve to 6-1-0 this season with a 1.85 GAA and .919 save percentage.  Alex Carpenter extended her point streak to 11 games with a goal and two assists over the weekend.

The Black Bears (2-8-1, 1-6-0 WHEA) enter the game after dropping a 3-0 decision to Team Russia in an exhibition game last Thursday.  Maine is led by senior forward Brittany Dougherty (4-7-11) and in goal by Brittany Ott (2-3-1, 2.45 GAA, .936 save percentage).

After this weekend, the Eagles will travel to New Hampshire to take on the Wildcats in their final game before winter break next Wednesday.
