Field, Boyles Receive Weekly Hockey East Honors

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Sophomore forward Emily Field received Athletic Republic Co-Player of the Week honors alongside Providence forward Beth Hanrahan.  Senior goaltender Corinne Boyles received WHEA Defensive Player of the Week honors and the Eagles were named as WHEA Team of the Week as announced by the Hockey East on Monday.

Field receives her second career Player of the Week honors for her three point performance in the Nutmeg Classic championship game against Yale on Saturday night.

Boyles receives her third Defensive Player of the Week honors and first since the week of December 5, 2011.  The Wheaton, Illinois native notched her eighth and ninth career shutouts en route to the Nutmeg Classic championship last weekend.

The Eagles were also named WHEA Team of the Week for the second consecutive week and third time overall this season.  BC outscored Quinnipiac and Yale by a combined score of 8-0 in the two games and outshot their opponents 82-44 during that span.

BC will play host to the Maine Black Bears in a two game set at Kelley Rink on Friday night at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m.
