Chestnut Hill, Mass. – After recording seven points in three games this week including a four point performance Friday night, freshman forward Haley Skarupa has been named Pro-Ambitions Rookie of the Week by the Hockey East.
Skarupa helped the Eagles earn a tie with Dartmouth Monday night and was instrumental in the Eagles’ home-and-home sweep of Northeastern this weekend.
The Rockville, Maryland native is second on the team in scoring with 16 points and is currently riding a seven game point streak (4-9-13). This marks the second time Skarupa has earned the honors as she was co-rookie of the week alongside BU’s Sarah Lefort for the week of October 29.
The Hockey East also announced that for the second time this season, the Eagles have been named WHEA Team of the Week. BC is carrying a seven game unbeaten streak (5-0-2) dating back to their 3-2 win over Minnesota-Duluth on October 26.
Skarupa and the Eagles will be back in action this weekend as they will compete in the Nutmeg Classic at Yale University. Boston College will face off against Quinnipiac on Friday and will take on either Connecticut or Yale on Saturday.
