Skarupa and Anastos Earn Monthly Honors

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College sophomore Haley Skarupa has earned Warrior Hockey Co-Player of the Month honors and freshman Andia Anastos has been named Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Month for their strong performances in October as announced by Hockey East on Thursday.
Skarupa leads the conference in points per game (1.71), goals per game (1.00), short-handed goals (2), plus-minus (+11) and shots on goal (52). The Rockville, Md. native has notched at least one point in five of the team’s seven games, and has recorded four multiple point games. She scored five goals in the team’s first two games, including her third career hat trick in a 5-2 victory over St. Lawrence.
Vermont’s Amanda Pelky was named Warrior Hockey Co-Player of the Month along with Skarupa. She ranks second in Hockey East in points per game (1.57), goals per game (0.86) and power play points per game (0.57).
Andie Anastos is tied for first in the conference in freshman scoring (0.86 points per game) and has six points (four goals and two assists) through seven games. She scored a goal in each of her first three games as an Eagle, and has recorded two multiple point games. The Farmington Hills, Mich. product was named Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week for the week of Oct. 14 earlier this season.
The No. 6 Eagles (5-2-0, 1-1-0 WHEA) take on the Friars in a home-and-home series starting in Providence on Friday, Nov. 1 and finishing at home on Sunday, Nov. 3.
