2013-14 Women's Hockey Schedule Announced

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Seven dates against 2013 NCAA tournament teams, 12 non-conference games - including the 36th annual Beanpot - and a 21-game Hockey East slate headline the 2013-14 Boston College women's ice hockey schedule.

Boston College will open up the season at home on Oct. 6 against Maine. The Eagles will then play five home games, two against St. Lawrence University (Oct. 11 and 12) and one against New Hampshire (Oct. 16), Yale (Oct. 19) and Dartmouth (Oct. 20), before traveling to Syracuse (Oct. 25) to finish the month of October with their first away game of the season.

The Eagles will start off November with four conference games. After a home-and-home series against Providence (Nov. 1 and 3), BC travels to Vermont (Nov. 8) before returning home to host Northeastern (Nov. 10). The Eagles then have two non-conference games at Quinnipiac (Nov. 15) and Princeton (Nov. 16) before another conference home-and-home series with Connecticut (Nov. 23 and 24).

BC finishes the first half of the season with three away games against NCAA qualifying teams, two at Cornell (Nov. 29 & 30) and one at Harvard (Dec. 7). The Eagles defeated the Crimson in the NCAA quarterfinals last season.

January features seven Hockey East games, highlighted by the Eagles' first game against rival Boston University at Agganis Arena on Jan. 8. BU won the Hockey East Tournament and lost to Minnesota in the NCAA Championship game last season.

The next time BC faces the Terriers will be Feb. 4 at 8 p.m. in the first round of the Beanpot, which Boston College is hosting. The consolation and championship games of the four-team tournament are scheduled for Feb. 11 at 5 and 8 p.m.

The Eagles then close out the regular season with a home-and-home against the Terriers on Feb. 22 and 23.

Quarterfinals of the Hockey East Tournament will be played at campus sites from Saturday, March 1 to Sunday, March 2. The semifinals and final are slated for Saturday, March 8 and Sunday, March 9 at the Hyannis Youth & Community Center in Hyannis, Mass.

The NCAA Tournament will begin with regional play from Saturday, March 15 through Sunday, March 16. The NCAA "Frozen Four" is set to begin Friday, March 21 and will finish with the final on Sunday, March 23 at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden, Conn.
