Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Women's ice hockey head coach Katie King Crowley has announced the captains for the upcoming 2012-13 season.
Senior Blake Bolden was named captain while Junior Meagan Mangene was named assistant captain for the Eagles.
Bolden has played in 102 games since her arrival at the Heights and has amassed 20 goals and 33 assists during that time. The Stow, Ohio native attended the national camp prior to the 2012 IIHF World Championship, was a Patty Kazmaier Award nominee, and a First Team Hockey East All-Star to cap off a stellar junior campaign. Blake finished second amongst defensemen in scoring in the Hockey East last season (8G, 13A).
Mangene has previous captaincy experience with the 2010 U18 U.S. team (captain) and the Little Caesar's U19 team (assistant captain). Meagan led all Eagles defenseman in assists last season with 14 and was tied for sixth in the Hockey East in defenseman scoring. She has totaled 22 points in 70 games over her first two seasons here at BC.
BC aims to reach their third consecutive Frozen Four and avenge their previous two semifinal losses to the University of Wisconsin. The Eagles finished second in the Hockey East with a 15-4-2 conference record and fourth in both the USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's Hockey final polls.
