Two W. Ice Hockey Players Chosen for Team USA U18 Series

Colorado Springs, Colo. -Boston College women's ice hockey freshmen Alex Carpenter and Megan Miller are among 22 players selected to represent the United States in a three-game series against Team Canada beginning on Thursday, August 18 in Rockland, Ontario.
The two Eagles highlight a group of eight U.S. National U18 Team members returning from its gold medal conquest at the 2011 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) U18 Women's World Championship this past January.
In addition to her international experience, Carpenter led Governor's Academy to four consecutive Independent School League (ISL) titles from 2008-11. The four-time All-ISL selection amassed 427 points (239 goals, 188 assists) in 100 games during her high school career.
Before initiating her gold medal run, Miller recorded a .970 save percentage and .610 goals against average en route to 23 shutouts as a senior at the North American Hockey Academy. The Long Grove, Ill. native's resume also boasts four straight Illinois state championships at Chicago Mission.
Six more Eagles continue play at the Festival as they await the announcement of the U.S. Women's Select Team on Friday, August 19. Blake Bolden, Mary Restuccia, Molly Schaus, Kelli Stack, Allie Thunstrom and Taylor Wasylk are looking to compete for Team USA in the IIHF Eights Nations Tournament in Viermäki, Finland from August 24-31.
