Twelve Women's Hockey Players Named To Hockey East All-Academic Team

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Twelve Boston College women's hockey players earned a spot on the Hockey East All-Academic team as announced on Friday, June 27 by Hockey East.
There are 93 student-athletes to earn a spot on the team. A 3.0 or better grade point average or better in two academic periods is the requirement for earning a spot on the Hockey East Academic team.
Lauren Wedell, a freshman defenseman, was named to the Hockey East Academic All-Star team. The rookie defender, a native of Arden Hills, Minn., is enrolled in the Carroll School of Management.
Senior Corinne Boyles, who earned the Eagle of the Year award in May, earned the Distinguished Scholar honor for earning a 3.0 in each semester over four varsity seasons. Boyles graduated from Boston College in May 2012 and is currently pursuing a master's in economics from the Carroll School of Management.
Other members of the women's hockey team named to the All-Academic team are: freshman Andie Anastos, sophomore Lexi Bender, three-time honoree Melissa Bizzari, two-time honoree Taylor Blake, two-time honoree Danielle Doherty, freshman Meghan Grieves, three-time honoree Erin Kickham, freshman Haley MacLean, two-time honoree Emily Pfalzer and three-time honoree Jackie Young.
