Chestnut Hill, Mass. – The Boston College women’s ice hockey team concluded its season with the No. 4 national ranking in the final USCHO and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls. The Eagles (24-10-3, 15-3-2 Hockey East) advanced to the NCAA Frozen Four for the second straight year, falling to Wisconsin (33-5-2), 6-1, in a national semifinal.
The title game provided the only change to the USCHO.com poll, with Minnesota (34-5-2) overtaking Wisconsin for the No. 1 ranking. UMN captured the national championship with a 4-2 decision over the Badgers.
Cornell received the No. 3 final ranking following its 3-1 loss to the Gophers in the other Frozen Four matchup. With BC in fourth, BU remained at No. 5 in both polls.
The USA Hockey Magazine poll mimicked the top five teams, but saw movement in the bottom half. North Dakota and St. Lawrence moved up to No. 6 and No. 7, respectively, as Mercyhurst fell to No. 8. Northeastern and Minnesota-Duluth rounded out the top 10 in order.
