Hoggarth, Skarupa Named Eagles of the Week

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Sophomores Logan Hoggarth (baseball) and Haley Skarupa (women's hockey) have been named Eagles of the Week for their performances last week.

Hoggarth led the Eagles in batting average (.583), hits (7), RBIs (4), doubles (3) and on-base percentage (.643) in the Snowbird Classic as BC went 2-1. Hoggarth drove in the game-winning run for the Eagles in the 11th inning against Villanova on Saturday, leading them to a 7-6 victory. He also went 1-for-1 with a run in the exhibition game with the Boston Red Sox on Thursday. Currently, he is third on the team with a .346 batting average and tied for the team lead with nine RBIs.

Skarupa set a Women's Hockey East quarterfinal record for points in a game with five (two goals, three assists) in the Eagles' 8-1 victory over New Hampshire Friday night. She scored her fourth short-handed goal in the contest and finished the game with a +4 rating. Skarupa leads the team with 41 points (25 goals, 16 assists) and ranks third in the country in goals per game (0.83).

Baseball (6-4) has two games at Florida Atlantic before opening ACC play at Miami this weekend. Women's hockey (26-5-3, 18-2-1) faces Vermont in the semifinals of the Women's Hockey East Tournament on Saturday in Hyannis.
