Boyles Wins WHEA Co-Goaltender of the Month

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Graduate student Corinne Boyles was named Goaltender of the Month and sophomore Haley Skarupa was tabbed Warrior Hockey Player of the Week as announced by Hockey East on Monday.
Boyles led Boston College to a 7-1 record in the month of February, and helped the Eagles win their first-ever WHEA regular season title as well as the fifth Beanpot championship in program history. In the month of February, the Wheaton, Ill. native recorded two shutouts and posted a goals against average of 1.00 and a save percentage of .963. She currently ranks fourth in the nation with a .944 save percentage on the year. This marks the second time Boyles has earned the accolade, as she was also honored as Co-Goaltender of the Month in January.
Skarupa set a WHEA quarterfinal record for points in a game with five (two goals, three assists) in the Eagles’ 8-1 victory over New Hampshire Friday night. This marks the third time the Rockville, Md. native has captured the award this season. Skarupa leads the team with 41 points (25 goals, 16 assists). She has also notched six power play-goals and four short-handed goals on the season.
The Eagles will be back in action Saturday, March 8 when they take on Vermont in the WHEA semifinals at 1:30 p.m. in Hyannis, Mass.
