CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Freshman forward Andie Anastos has been named Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week as announced by Hockey East on Monday. The Farmington Hills, Mich. native scored three goals and tallied two assists in two conference victories over Boston University over the weekend.

In Saturday’s tilt against the Terriers, Anastos netted two goals, including the game winner with five seconds left in regulation. Her first goal came at 9:19 of the second period and tied the score at 1-1. Emily Pfalzer intercepted a pass along the right boards in BU's zone, skated behind the net and threw a pass across the ice in front of the net to Anastos, who finished the play with a one-timer that she blasted passed Boston University netminder Kerrin Sperry.

Anastos concluded the scoring with her game winner from between the faceoff circles, securing the 3-2 victory for BC. The freshman center sent a pass along the right boards to Field who circled back towards the net and fired a shot that a BU defender blocked, but Anastos scooped up the rebound and lifted a shot into the top left corner of the net for the goal.

The 5’8” forward followed up her Saturday performance with a three-point outing (one goal, two assists) on Sunday. Anastos picked up the secondary assist on the first goal of the game by Pfalzer before breaking out on a two-on-one with Haley Skarupa, who buried Anastos’ pass with a one-timer to score a short-handed goal that proved to be the game winner.

This marks the third week this season that Anastos has garnered the rookie of the week accolade. She leads all conference freshmen in points per game with 1.06. Her 35 points on the season (14 goals, 21 assists) are good for 10 more than any other Hockey East rookie.

Boston College (25-5-3, 18-2-1) will return to action on Friday, Feb. 28 at 7 pm when it hosts New Hampshire in the quarterfinal round of the Hockey East Playoffs.
