Feb. 18, 2014

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Graduate student Corinne Boyles (women's ice hockey) and sophomore Chris Shaw (baseball) have been named Eagles of the Week for their performances last week.

Boyles stopped 47 of 48 shots (.979 save percentage) in two games last week, earning a shutout victory in the Beanpot Championship game, and a 4-1 victory in the game that clinched the Hockey East regular season title. Boyles is now 19-5-2 on the year with a 1.63 goals against average and a .943 save percentage, both tops in the conference. Boyles was also named Hockey East Co-Defender of the Week.

Shaw led the Eagles with a .375 batting average, tallying six hits, four doubles, four RBIs and a .813 slugging percentage. The outfielder hit BC's first home run of the season, starting the comeback rally on Sunday as the Eagles climbed from 5-0 back to defeat Santa Clara, 8-6. He drove home what turned out to be the game-winning run on a double in the Eagles' first win of the season, a 4-1 victory over SCU on Saturday.

No. 6 women's hockey (23-5-3, 16-2-1 HEA) has a two-game series against Boston University this weekend while baseball (3-1) baseball has a three-game set at Stetson.
