Carpenter Earns Player of the Week Honors

Feb. 18, 2013

Chestnut Hill, Mass. – Sophomore forward Alex Carpenter was awarded Athletic Republic Player of the Week honors in an announcement made by the Hockey East on Monday.

The Reading, Mass. native was honored for the fifth time this season after her four goal and four assist performance over three games last week.  Sunday’s three point effort against Connecticut was a milestone day as she reached the 100-point plateau in just 65 career games played.

Carpenter leads the Hockey East with 61 points and sits fifth in the NCAA scoring race.  She currently sits three points from tying and four points from breaking the single-season BC scoring record set by Erin Magee in 1995-96.

Carpenter and the Eagles will close out their regular season schedule this week with three road games; at Providence on Tuesday and a two-game set at Vermont this weekend.
