Skarupa, Boyles and Team Earn Weekly Honors

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Sophomore Haley Skarupa was named Warrior Player of the week, co-captain Corinne Boyles was named Hockey East Co-Defensive Player of the week and Boston College earned Hockey East Team of the Week as announced by the league on Monday.
Skarupa notched four goals and have a +6 rating in three BC victories over the past week. The Rockville, Md. native tallied 22 shots in the three games and helped BC clinch the Hockey East regular season title with a hat trick in the 4-1 victory over Maine on Sunday. She leads the team with 34 points (22 goals, 12 assists) and is second in the nation with 0.81 goals per game.
Boyles stopped 47 of 48 shots (.979 save percentage) in two games this week, earning a shutout victory in the Beanpot championship game, and a 4-1 victory in the game that clinched the Hockey East regular season title. Boyles is now 19-5-2 on the year with a 1.63 goals against average and a .943 save percentage, both tops in the conference. Her save percentage is also good for fifth in the country.
Boston College was named team of the week for the fourth time this season after winning three games over the past week. The Eagles started their winning ways on Tuesday with a 3-0 victory over Northeastern to win their fifth Beanpot title. BC then won both games at Maine by a score of 4-1, securing its first ever Hockey East regular season title with the victory on Sunday.
The Eagles (23-5-3, 16-2-1) will wrap up the regular season with a home-and-home series against Boston University on Feb. 22-23.
