Chestnut Hill, Mass. – The #2 women’s hockey team (21-5-2, 13-2-1 WHEA) look to bounce back into the win column against Connecticut in a home-and-home series this weekend. Saturday’s game will mark the final regular season home game for seniors Kristina Brown, Dru Burns, Blake Bolden, Caitlin Walsh, Elizabeth Olchowski, Ashley Motherwell, and Corinne Boyles.
The Eagles are coming off a hard fought 4-3 loss to #10 Northeastern in the Beanpot finals on Tuesday. Dana Trivigno, Melissa Bizzari, and Emily Field each tallied goals for BC but it wasn’t enough as the Huskies survived a late push to win their 16th Beanpot title.
This weekend will mark the second and third meetings of the season between the teams with BC claiming the lone victory back on Jan. 27 by a score of 8-0.
BC is currently tied for first in the Hockey East standings with BU at 13-2-1 in conference play. If each team wins their remaining games then the #1 seed in the Hockey East Tournament will be decided by a coin flip.
The Huskies (3-23-3, 1-14-1 WHEA) enter the game off a 4-0 shutout loss at UNH on Monday night. UConn is 0-9-1 over their last 10 games as coach Heather Linstad tries to build some momentum heading into next season.
After their series with the Huskies this weekend, the Eagles will conclude their regular season slate on the road at Providence on Tuesday and up at Vermont for a two-game series next weekend.
