Chestnut Hill, Mass. – The Boston College women’s ice hockey team fell two spots to No. 6 on the latest USCHO and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls. Last week, the Eagles (19-8-3, 11-3-2 Hockey East) tied No. 7 Northeastern, 1-1, at the 34th Annual Beanpot and lost to Providence, 6-2.
The Eagles have four league games remaining on their regular-season schedule, including a home-and-home series with Connecticut this weekend. BC travels to UConn for a 2 p.m. skate on Saturday, Feb. 11 and return to the Heights for 1 p.m. showdown on Sunday.
BC concluded the Beanpot with a 4-2 win over No. 8 Harvard on Tuesday night at Walter Brown Arena. The Crimson had been topped by newly-minted No. 10 Boston University, 5-2, in the opening round. Northeastern went on win the title by defeating BU, 4-3, in overtime.
With the Eagles taking the No. 6 ranking in the polls, both North Dakota and Mercyhurst advanced one position. The schools remained flip-flopped in the rankings, but occupy spots No. 4 and No. 5.
The 10th spot was the only other change on the sets, as BU went from a national vote-getter to being included on the list.
