Anastos and Boyles Earn Monthly Accolades

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Freshman Andie Anastos was named Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Month and co-captain Corinne Boyles earned Co-Goaltender of the month accolades as announced by Hockey East on Monday.

Anastos notched nine points (three goals, six assists) and a +5 rating in seven games in January. The Farmington Hills, Mich. native had three multiple-point games, one game-winning goal and six blocks on the month. She also recorded at least one point in six of seven games and leads all Hockey East rookies with 26 points. This marks the third time this season that Anastos has been named Rookie of the Month.

The 5’8” forward averages 1.00 points per game, which ranks second in the nation. She is currently on a six-game point streak (2-4-6) and is second on the team with 26 points.

Boyles recorded a .950 save percentage and a 1.56 GAA in seven games in January, going unbeaten with a record of 6-0-1. She made at least 30 saves in four of the seven games, including a 34-save shutout against Vermont. She allowed two goals or less in six of seven games.

The graduate student netminder leads Hockey East in goals against average (1.74), save percentage (.939) and win percentage (.773). This is the first time this season that Boyles has been named Goaltender of the Month.

No. 7 Boston College (19-4-3, 14-1-1) takes on Boston University in the first round on the Beanpot Tournament on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 8 p.m. at Kelley Rink.
