Chestnut Hill, Mass. – Three members of the #3 women’s hockey team were honored for their performances over the past week in an announcement made by the Hockey East on Monday.
Alex Carpenter (Athletic Republic Player of the Week), Haley Skarupa (Pro-Ambitions Rookie of the Week), and Corinne Boyles (WHEA Co-Defensive Player of the Week) garnered the weekly honors.
Carpenter grabs Player of the Week honors for the second time this season with her three goal and five assist performance over three games this week. Carpenter is currently in the midst of a 19-game point streak which ties for the longest in BC history alongside Kelli Stack. The Reading, Mass. native is second in the Hockey East in scoring (38 pts.) behind teammate Haley Skarupa.
Skarupa, the Rockville, Md. native, leads the Hockey East in scoring with 39 points and is coming off a week where she tallied six goals and three assists over three games. Skarupa is a league best +34 this season and is second in shots on goal with 128. This week marks the fifth time this season that she has nabbed Pro-Ambitions Rookie of the Week honors.
Goaltender Corinne Boyles was honored with Co-Defensive Player of the Week accolades alongside Providence goaltender Sarah Bryant. The senior from Wheaton, Ill. went 3-0-0 with a 2.32 GAA and .909 save percentage in three games last week. Boyles is currently riding a personal 14-game winning streak after dropping the season opener against BU on October 5.
For the sixth time this season, the Eagles were named Hockey East Team of the Week as they continue program best 17-game unbeaten and 12-game winning streaks.
The Eagles will have be back in action this weekend as they head to Erie, Pa. to face off against the #7 Mercyhurst Lakers on Friday and Saturday.
