Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Senior forward Mary Restuccia was named the Hockey East Athletic Republic Player of the Week in a conference announcement on Monday.
The captain assisted all four of the fourth-ranked Eagles' goals last weekend, leading BC to a 1-1 record. Boston College rattled off three unanswered goals to defeat Clarkson, 3-2, after falling to St. Lawrence, 2-1, the previous day. Restuccia's three helpers in Saturday's win over the Golden Knights marked the 10th three-point game of her career and the first defeat of Clarkson since the 2008-09 season opener.
The four points moved Restuccia's career total to 98 (36g, 62a). The Chester Springs, Pa. native is just two points shy of becoming the eighth Eagle to ever record 100 or more points in their career.
This is the first conference honor of the season for Restuccia and her first since being named Player of the Week on March 16, 2009.
The Eagles begin their league gauntlet tonight at 7 p.m. against New Hampshire. All the action on Kelley Rink can be seen live through bceagles.com. Admission is free.
